Sometimes it almost sounds like that here on Cape Cod.

NYC stations, Boston stations, some FL, and a gaggle of Spanish ... largely
from Cuba.

You will soon note a lot of parallel channels on the major networks, e.g.:

Rebelde 540, 600, 610, 620, 670, 710, 1180, 1620.
The 9-note attention signal cuts through co-channel crud like a Husqvarna
chainsaw, as in this recording from here in South Yarmouth:
http://chowdanet.com/markc/dx_audio/rebelde_9_note_signal.mp3

Progreso 630, 640, 650, 660, 690, 720, 730, et al.

Reloj (clock ticks, "RR" code on the minute in newscasts) 570, 790, 820, 860,
870, 950, 960, 980

Use your Perseus around "hourtops" and store a band worth of this stuff. I'm
sure you will find it easy to analyze all the parallel channels that way. With
any luck, other things besides Cuba are hiding in there - South America,
Central America, Mexico, more-easterly Caribbean. Who knows, maybe even some
of the big TA's show up around sunset.

In recent post-sunset and pre-dawn hours of driving at Ft. Myers Beach FL,
we
find the MW band is crowded...with SS, almost exclusively.

Other than locals,
the only Domestic English we were able to copy, on three
separate
tries:

WSM 650;   WLW 700;   WSB 750;   A HINT OF WTAM 1100;   WBT 1110;
WLAC
1510.

YIKES!

Cheers!
