I was just looking at their website, and the standard Airspy is actually a
VHF/UHF SDR (24MHz to 1800MHz). The “SpyVerter” accessory listed below is
apparently a necessary add-on converter for longwave/AM BCB/shortwave
reception... and it doesn’t seem to be available yet (“coming soon,” the
webpage says). But yeah, the basic price of $200 is attractive. Wonder how much
the VLF/MW/SW converter will cost?

Subject: [NRC-AM] Airspy 2 SDR now Available.

I own the original Airspy and am a very happy customer. Today brings new's of
an improved model. Can't wait to hear some reviews from DX'ers. Not affiliated
with the company, just passing along the news.
===================

We have sensitive ears! The demand for ever cheaper, higher performance and
ruggedized SDR receivers is driving the professional market. Due to the large
demand from our professional customers, we upgraded recently our original
Airspy One design to Revision 2. This new revision improves the following
points:

 *   Better USB noise immunity
 * Better ESD protection on the RF input
 * Added ESD protection on the dual High Speed ADC inputs
 *   Better RF Shielding
 *   Better RF Filtering
 * Replaced the USB connector with a custom designed, more robust, 4 through
hole points model
 *   Better thermal stability
 * Better compatibility with the SpyVerter

The old revision is no longer produced, and all new shipments will be based on
the R2. We are eager to get your feedback about these improvements!
