Although this morning's sunrise session was another total clunker there were
some healthy Asian signals to be found overnight-- if someone was willing to
try for them from 0900-1015 UTC.

At 0910 the first of the energetic Japanese big guns appeared as 747-JOIB
reached a good level in the Portland splatter. About 30 minutes later both
594-JOAK and 774-JOUB did the same, and the other NHK big guns on 693 and 828
were in and out of the noise with weak audio. Korea seemed to have been
overlooked in the Asian sunset propagation, though, as neither 972 nor 1566 had
come up with audio by 1015. By 1410 all of these had fizzled down to weak
carrier level, of course, and even the ghostly carriers didn't care much for
the negative sunrise enhancement. Although big gun Japanese audio isn't exactly
thrilling the chance to hear healthy Asian signals in this lackluster month
made the bizarre early morning session somewhat interesting.
