Unfortunately, Russ, Total Recorder can only be used with PCs, not Macs. I use Audacity primarily to convert cassette recordings of my catches to .mp3 files for archive purposes or to create audio files of manageable sizes to send to stations when seeking verifications. It's actually very simple to use. For me, there's nothing quite like the excitement of catching a DX Test or some new station live, so timed unattended recordings is not that important a feature to me now. Still, I'll confess, dragging myself out of bed in the early hours of the morning is getting harder and harder the older I get!

The ultimate license price is quite reasonable. I find TR easier to operate than Audacity, and TR comes with its own built-in scheduluer for use in setting up timed unattended recordings.
