Colin, I've thought about solar arrays, too, both in Victoria and in Masset, but the RFI risks are simply too great, especially for Masset. The power has to be stored somewhere, and it's the inverters that scares the bejesus out of me. Otherwise, I'd embrace them immediately! Unfortunately, things can change on a dime, and unless you live a long way from any neighbours, we're all at risk. I think that in Victoria, Nick was the first of us to experience the local noise problems over the years. I was lucky in Oak Bay for the 20 years we lived there, relatively RFI free, but sure experience it now a lot in Fairfield. I suspect someone in the immediate neighbourhood has those darn Wi-Fi extenders via BPL. Ugly to look at the spectrum and see similar buzzes, often a lot closer together than even 100 kHz. I'm not sure whether bigger and higher antennas are the answer. Won't they just pick up and amplify the noise even more??? 73, Walt
