----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on Irish Fencing Forum
----------------------------------------------------------- From: DaveTheBastard Message 48 in Discussion "As for what I think the standards should be... I think that a jacket (preferably 350 newton) & 350 newton plasteron should be adaquate for low level competitions in foil and sabre. For epee competitions and higher level foil & sabre competitions (Open, Easts etc) I think that 350 newton breeches should be required as well as 350n jacket and plastron." Well, obviously no one at an Irish comp will have reached a high enough level to generate sufficient force to need 800N gear. I say let the newbies wear what they like in any comp - I've got the 800N gear and I'm protected. If I happen to skewer someone with tracksuit bottoms, I should care? It only shows what a high-powered, elite fencer I am! ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/IrishFencingForum/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
