The discussion cannot be locked but can be deleted however I would not like to
do this. Its expected that some people will use this opportunity to have a go
at UCD - don't take it personally Owen. If people have something to say about
the issue then are welcome to say it as the missing piste affects the whole
fencing community not just UCD. However if people try to piss other people off
then their posts will be deleted and if it continues they will be banned from
the board. This is and will remain a serious discussion. If you want to
insult UCDFC then start a discussion in the abuse room. Try keep these
discussions relevant. Regarding the current discussion I would suggest that
enough has been said about the missing piste and what should be done about it.
The sports centre has been contacted, lets wait and see what happens. What I
am interested in is whether the piste should be replaced with another metal
piste or with two light weight pistes. Personally I found the metal piste
uncomfortable to fence on, it offers alot more grip than the other pistes or
the floor so sometimes i find that when i try stop moving that I stop
immediately and don't slide as would normally happen, this generally throws me
off balance. Its also a really difficult to transport, given that tournaments
are held in Galway and Cork it might be better if lighter pistes are bought.
