----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on Irish Fencing Forum
----------------------------------------------------------- From: Colm_F Message 13 in Discussion It seems to me (although I am an epeeist, so you may wish to disregard my opinions) that the way to go as regards foil fencing is to fence more side-on. Since flick hits which would have meant that your back and front were both highly exposed if you turned your side now won't land as regurally turning your should (in my reckoning) leave your hapless oponent aiming at the reduced effective target of your flank underneath your sword-arm. A couple of people i was talking to also seemed to find that even straight thrusting hits on the chest of people who were fencing more side-on were glancing off and weren't holding the point down long enough anymore. If true this would add further benefit to such a style of fencing. ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/IrishFencingForum/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
