There is an interesting article on lefties. Seems that they have a greater chance of being in serious accidents that right handed people so researchers have wondered why they haven't died out yet, they have figured for a while that lefties must have some advantage that is keeping them alive. They suggested that in a fight against a right handed person a leftie has the advantage of surprise, however there has been no evidence to support this..........until now. Two French researchers compared homicide rates in eight native societies around the world and found a direct correlation between the level of violence in a given society and the proportion of left handers. They concluded that fighting can be an important selection pressure in the evolution of left handers.
