----------------------------------------------------------- From: insanemisskitty Message 2 in Discussion A direct correlation eh? I'm afraid I have not read the article myself, but would like to point out a hole in "direct correlations" like this. correlations do not equate to a cause and effect. any scientist worth their salt knows this. Having been fascinated by hemispheric asymettry as a student I simply love this subject! The only thing I have noticed amongst my many left handed buddies is a)better spatial ability, and b)bad spelling. Because "most" lefties are right-hemisphere dominant, the general consensus is (or at least used to be, back when I was researching it) that they have a harder time with language (left hemisphere) and an easier time with colours , geometry and creativity (right hemisphere). On a juggling note, I know that some lefties can pick up the damn tricks a lot more easily, and as well as getting more practice against righties in fencing than we do against them, timing and being able to predict and visualise actions better in their brains. Its just a theory though! ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/IrishFencingForum/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
