Khalid Shaikh Mohammed: The Ultimate Patsy "Confesses"
You can trust a press release from a heavily
redacted secret military tribunal of a tortured
detainee conducted by individuals representative
of an oligarchy whose every deception, gross
violation of U.S. law, and act of imperial
bloodletting over the last six years rests on
maintaining the orthodoxy of the official 9/11 myth
Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the alleged "Al-Qaeda
mastermind," has confessed to direct involvement
in a myriad of terrorist attacks and
assassination plots around the world, including
9/11 "from A to Z," but some are likely to be
disappointed that after 5 years of torture he
stopped short of accepting responsibility for
killing Kennedy, creating AIDS and being the real Santa Claus.
In his first interview following 9/11, Osama Bin
Laden denied any involvement in the attacks.
"I have already said that I am not involved in
the 11 September attacks in the United States. As
a Muslim, I try my best to avoid telling a lie. I
had no knowledge of these attacks, nor do I
consider the killing of innocent women, children
and other humans as an appreciable act. Islam
strictly forbids causing harm to innocent women,
children and other people. Such a practice is
forbidden even in the course of a battle," Bin
Laden told the Pakistani based
<http://www.robert-fisk.com/usama_interview_ummat.htm>Ummat newspaper.
If Bin Laden wasn't involved in 9/11 then Khalid
Shaikh Mohammed's "confession" is rendered obsolete.
But since Khalid has squealed on the "A to Z" of
9/11, perhaps he can provide some answers to a
few troubling little questions that still have us
9/11 "conspiracy nuts" running around in circles;
- Was Khalid Shaikh Mohammed responsible for the
FBI ordering the
<http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/RANCHO/POLITICS/OK/wtcbomb.html>1993
World Trade Center bombing to go ahead? In his
confession, KSM says he ran the attack but fails
to explain why it was the FBI who provided the
terror cell with the bomb materials through their informant.
- Was Khalid Shaikh Mohammed responsible for
NORAD completely reversing its standard operating procedure on the day of 9/11?
- Was Khalid Shaikh Mohammed responsible for the
collapse of three steel buildings, one that was
not hit by a plane, from fire damage alone for
the first and only time in history?
- Was Khalid Shaikh Mohammed responsible for
warning,
<http://www.prisonplanet.com/911/warned.htm>according
to Newsweek, a group of top Pentagon officials to
cancel their flights on the evening of September 10th due to security concerns?
- Was Khalid Shaikh Mohammed responsible for the
record number of 'put' options, speculation that
the stock of a company will fall, that were
placed on American and United Airlines in the
days preceding September 11th? This despite a
September 10th Reuters report stating 'airline stocks set to fly.'
- Was Khalid Shaikh Mohammed responsible for
blocking
<http://www.prisonplanet.com/bush_took_fbi_off_laden_trail.html>FBI
anti-terrorism investigations before 9/11 related
to the bin Laden family and Saudi charities that
were front groups for Al-Qaeda?
- Was Khalid Shaikh Mohammed responsible for
advising the Secret Service not to remove
President Bush from a completely unsecured
Florida elementary school by letting them know he wasn't a target on 9/11?

Alleged Architect Of 9/11 Confesses To Many Attacks - Believe it or not
In a rambling statement delivered Saturday to a
closed-door military tribunal, Mohammed declared
himself an enemy of the United States and claimed
some responsibility for many of the major
terrorist attacks on U.S. and allied targets over
more than a decade. He said that he is at war
with the United States and that the deaths of
innocent people are an unfortunate consequence of that conflict.
Mohammed presented evidence, in the form of a
written statement, in which he appears to allege
abuse. The tribunal president told Mohammed he
had received the statement "regarding certain
treatment that you claim to have received" before arriving at Guantanamo Bay.
The tribunal president also asked whether any
statements he made under interrogation were "as
the result of any of the treatment." Mohammed
answered: "CIA peoples. Yes. At the beginning
when they transferred me . . ." The rest of the
sentence is redacted from the transcript.

CIA holds young sons of captured al-Qa'eda chief - America Democracy Style
Two young sons of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the
suspected mastermind of the September 11 attacks,
are being used by the CIA to force their father to talk.
Yousef al-Khalid, nine, and his brother, Abed
al-Khalid, seven, were taken into custody in
Pakistan last September when intelligence
officers raided a flat in Karachi where their father had been hiding.
Their father, Mohammed, 37, is being interrogated
at the Bagram US military base in Afghanistan. He
is being held in solitary confinement and

He has been told that his sons are being held and
he is being encouraged to divulge future attacks

CIA's Harsh Interrogation Techniques Described - Dictatorship
Sources Say Agency's Tactics Lead to Questionable
Confessions, Sometimes to Death
Nov. 18, 2005 Harsh interrogation techniques
authorized by top officials of the CIA have led
to questionable confessions and the death of a
detainee since the techniques were first
authorized in mid-March 2002, ABC News has been
told by former and current intelligence officers and supervisors.

Harsh C.I.A. Methods Cited in Top Qaeda Interrogations
WASHINGTON, May 12 The Central Intelligence
Agency has used coercive interrogation methods
against a select group of high-level leaders and
operatives of Al Qaeda that have produced growing
concerns inside the agency about abuses,
according to current and former counterterrorism officials.
At least one agency employee has been disciplined
for threatening a detainee with a gun during questioning, they said.
In the case of Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, a
high-level detainee who is believed to have
helped plan the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, C.I.A.
interrogators used graduated levels of force,
including a technique known as "water boarding,"
in which a prisoner is strapped down, forcibly
pushed under water and made to believe he might drown.

Officials: Mohammed exaggerated claims
A CIA official declined to analyze Mohammed's statements.
One official cautioned that many of Mohammed's
claims during interrogation were "white noise"
designed to send the U.S. on wild goose chases or
to get him through the day's interrogation session.
In the Defense Department transcript, Mohammed
said his statement was not made under duress. But
Mohammed and human rights advocates have alleged
that he was tortured, and legal experts say that
could taint all his statements.
"In light of the rambling nature of his
statements, and the views of some that he is
prone to exaggerate his importance, we cannot
feel confident we know exactly the level of his
involvement in various prior attacks," said
Joshua Dressler, a criminal law expert at Moritz
College of Law at Ohio State University.
The CIA has denied it uses torture. "The agency's
terrorist interrogation program has been
conducted lawfully, with great care and close
review, producing vital information that has
helped disrupt plots and save lives," spokesman Paul Gimigliano said.

Can Khalid Sheikh Mohammed's 'tortured' testimony be trusted?
On Thursday, NBC's Today Show explored whether
the confessions of alleged 9/11 "mastermind"
Khalid Sheikh Mohammed can be trusted, since he
claimed to have been tortured after being detained.
"Let's talk about the issue of torture," NBC's
Matt Lauer said. "He says in his statement that
he didn't make this statement under duress or
pressure, but he does also say that he was
tortured by the CIA after his capture."
Last September, CIA sources told ABC News that
the harshest technique they were authorized to
use on "high-value detainees, such as the 9/11
attacks architect Khalid Sheikh Mohamed...was
called 'water boarding,' in which a prisoner's
face was covered with cellophane, and water is
poured over it (pictured above) -- meant to trigger an unbearable gag reflex."

A Breakthrough in the War on Terror? I'll Believe It When We See Some Evidence
. . . True, Mr Mohammed is the uncle of the
1993 World Trade Centre conspirator Ramzi Yousef
and a brother of an al-Qa'ida operative. True,
another brother was killed in a bomb explosion in
Pakistan--he was allegedly making the bomb at the
time. But claims that he was the 11 September
"mastermind"--"It's hard to overstate how
significant this is," the ever loquacious Mr
Fleischer told the world yesterday--are still
unprovable. Hitherto, the nearest to a
"mastermind" anyone got was Mounir al-Motassadeq,
who was jailed in Germany last month as an accessory to mass murder. . . .
Consider following facts:
But, sometime between then and early Saturday
morning, when Mohammed was captured in Pakistan,
the U.S. government identified Mohammed as the
mastermind behind the al-Qaida plot.--Debra
Pickett,

Qadoos, the 42-year-old Pakistani accused of
sheltering the mastermind of the September 11
attacks. . . . His mother produced a medical
report describing him as a "low IQ person" . . .
"They took my diaries and address book, a box of
family photographs, tapes of the Koran that I
like listening to and a computer we bought last
month for the children." . . . Qadoos's daughter
Aisha said: "It was our computer. We didn't even
have the internet. It just had some games--Aladdin and The Lion King." . . .

Was I a good American in the time of George Bush?
Was I a good American? How good an American was
I? Did I do what I could to resist the takeover
of my country and the brutalisation of my fellow
human beings? How much further could I have gone?
Were the crimes of the Bush administration those
that demand you give up your life and everyday
commitments to throw yourself into maximum
resistance? If not, then what were we waiting
for? The questions have troubled me regularly
these last five years, because I was one of the
millions of American citizens who did not shut
down Guantánamo Bay and stop the other atrocities of the administration.
And there were others who were in resistance all
along. I remember with admiration the
Japanese-Americans who came out in the months
after 9/11 to testify that they had been
incarcerated en masse during the second world
war, not for what they did but for who they were,
and they were not going to remain silent as the
same treatment was meted out to Arabs and
Muslims. I remember the way that 20,000 of us in
San Francisco came out to shut down the business
district the day the war broke out, and the huge
marches before and after. I remember the few
congresspeople - mostly African-American - who
dared to stand in opposition early on. I went to
Camp Casey outside Bush's vacation home in Texas
and spent a day with Cindy Sheehan, who gave her
life over to stopping the war after it took her
soldier son. Others did as she did. Some of them are my friends.

Iraqi resistance "winning"
"What happened is that the Americans trained
death squads (of Iraqis) in Hungary before the
invasion to take on members of one another
community. My own cousin, a Shia, was trained in
Turkey. But when he was asked to kill Sunnis, he just ran away.
"It was the Americans who spoke about Shia
majority areas and Sunni triangles. Iraqis never
used such expressions earlier. Despite American
propaganda (that only Sunnis are against them),
three Shia groups are fighting the Americans."
I knew that there were militias being used by the
Americans very soon, but I have not before heard
that there were squads of Iraqis being trained in
Hungary prior to the invasion. Of course it
wouldn't be surprising: the CIA used Iraqi exile
groups to launch a series of terror campaigns in
Iraq during the 1990s, including the blowing up
of a schoolbus. They would presumably have
reckoned that they might need to wage a terror
war, even if they totally underestimated the scale of resistance.

Attacks in Iraq hit all-time high
THE number of attacks in Iraq during the last
three months of 2006 was the highest for any such
period since 2003, a Pentagon progress report to Congress said today.
"Although most attacks continue to be directed
against coalition forces, Iraqi civilians suffer
the vast majority of the casualties,'' the report said.
The quarterly report - Stability and Security in
Iraq - did not reflect security conditions since
the start of the year when the United States
increased the number of troops in Baghdad to try
break a spiral of sectarian violence.
Echoing a recent US intelligence estimate, it
said the term "civil war'' did not capture the
complexity of the conflict, which included
"extensive'' sectarian violence but also attacks
on coalition forces and criminality.

U.S. tolerates Shiite militias
The Times reports point blank today what ought to
have been obvious since the start of the
so-called "surge," namely, that the United States
has decided to concentrate its fire on the Sunnis
and give the Shiite death squads and paramilitary
forces -- read: SCIRI -- a free pass. Notes the Times:
In Baghdad, American officials seem increasingly
willing to tolerate some of those Shiite militias
as long as they patrol their own neighborhoods.
Administration officials said they had eased up
on parts of the timetable for re-integrating
former Baathists, for fear of a Shiite backlash.

Hillary Clinton: Iraqi Occuption Will Continue If I'm President
Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton foresees a
"remaining military as well as political mission"
in Iraq, and says that if elected president, she
would keep a reduced military force there to
fight Al Qaeda, deter Iranian aggression, protect
the Kurds and possibly support the Iraqi military.
In a half-hour interview on Tuesday in her Senate
office, Mrs. Clinton said the scaled-down
American military force that she would maintain
would stay off the streets in Baghdad and would
no longer try to protect Iraqis from sectarian
violence -- even if it descended into ethnic cleansing.
In outlining how she would handle Iraq as
commander-in-chief, Mrs. Clinton articulated a
more nuanced position than the one she has
provided at her campaign events, where she has
backed the goal of "bringing the troops home."
She said in the interview that there were
"remaining vital national security interests in
Iraq" that would require a continuing deployment of American troops.
This stance deserves deep consideration by
Democratic primary voters. It's a genuinely and
deeply conservative foreign policy strategy,
involving indefinitely keeping US troops in Iraq
for unspecified national security interests while calling the war over.
Hillary Clinton's promise to continue the Iraqi
occupation will become the Democratic Party
platform if she is the nominee. This is a very
dangerous roadmap for the Democrats.

Israel's right to be racist
Israel's struggle for peace is a sincere one. In
fact, Israel desires to live at peace not only
with its neighbours, but also and especially with
its own Palestinian population, and with
Palestinians whose lands its military occupies by
force. Israel's desire for peace is not only
rhetorical but also substantive and deeply
psychological. With few exceptions, prominent
Zionist leaders since the inception of colonial
Zionism have desired to establish peace with the
Palestinians and other Arabs whose lands they
slated for colonisation and settlement. The only
thing Israel has asked for, and continues to ask
for in order to end the state of war with the
Palestinians and its Arab neighbours, is that all
recognise its right to be a racist state that
discriminates by law against Palestinians and
other Arabs and grants differential legal rights
and privileges to its own Jewish citizens and to
all other Jews anywhere. The resistance that the
Palestinian people and other Arabs have launched
against Israel's right to be a racist state is
what continues to stand between Israel and the
peace for which it has struggled and to which it
has been committed for decades. Indeed, this
resistance is nothing less than the "New anti- Semitism".

Humiliation and Child Abuse at Israeli Checkpoints, Strip-Searching Children
Israeli officials have been regularly

While organizations that focus on

Israeli border officials regularly strip search
men and women, If Americans Knew appears to be

officials have also been strip searching young
girls as young as seven and below.
