Billions of Dollars have been poured into that rouge state in economic and military aid. Sophisticated weapons have been shipped to help the Israeli regime repeatedly crush the numerically superior armies of Egypt, Lebanon and Syria. The US have sponsored intra-Arab wars to weaken and destabilise some states of the Mid East while twisting the arms of others to supply it with oil. What is the motive of American foreign policy in the Mid-East?. Is the Zionist regime a purposely-built war outpost in what the Americans consider as a long-term hostile (Islamic) territory?. Or is Israel a representation of Jewish-Christian religious destiny, a prophecy of their Torah and Bible? Post 9/11, American foreign policy is decidedly anti-Islamic under the guise of anti-terrorism. This superpower has far exceeded its earlier self-proclaimed policeman of the world role to flex its unilateral power to invade any (Islamic) country as and when it deems fit. Is this the Clash of Civilisation or a veiled crusade to vanquish Islam on the way to realise their belief in Armageddon and the coming of End-Times?. Professor Ataullah Kopanski ----------------------------- Born in Poland from a Catholic Family. Professor in History, specialized in Medieval European History. Polish, now American. Ph.D in History & Politics. Was imprisoned twice by the Polish Communist Regime (1968, 1981-82) Embraced Islam in 1974. When I was 12 years old I rejected the illogical and contradictory faith of the Church. Two years later in 1962 I was fascinated by the victorious struggle of the Algerian Muslim Mujaahideen against French Colonialism. It was the first 'arrow' of Islam. My way to the Truth of the Qur'aan was slow and unpaved. In 1974 I visited Turkey, and wrote my M.A. dissertation about Sultan and Caliph Suleiman Kanuni's policy towards the Polish Kingdom. There I was hit by the most beautiful voice of mankind : ADHAAN, the call to prayer. My hair stood up. An unknown powerful force led me to an old masjid (mosque) in Istanbul. There, an old, smiling Turkish man taught me the WUDOO' , or ablution. I confessed to tears the SHAHAADAH (proclamation of faith) and I prayed my first SALAAT-UL- MAGHRIB ( the Evening Prayer).. I swept out the rubbish ideologies... For the first time in my life my mind was relaxed and I felt the pleasure of Allah's love in my heart. I was a Muslim
