Nampaknya bukan saja peristiwa Bukit Kepong sahaja yang ramai generasi kini
terkeliru, terlupa, buat-buat lupa dan sebagainya. Malahan sejarah tahun 1993
pun ramai antara kita yang lupa. Kita lupa bagaimana tentera kita khususnya
Askar Melayu menjadi wira dunia, di mana askar Amerika dan Pakistan sendiri
tidak seberani Askar Melayu kita dalam pertempuran di Somalia yang
mengorbankan, insyaAllah as Syahid Koperal Mat Aznan.

Bukan setakat lupa, malahan pimpinan kita pun tidak bersuara lantang
mempertahankan keperwiraan Askar Melayu apabila filem Holywood Blackhawk Down
menafikan sama sekali keperwiraan askar kita.

Bukan setakat pemimpin negara, malahan dikatakan pemimpin tertinggi ATM pun
tidak berani hendak membetulkan fakta sepertimana dalam ruangan komen dalam
blog almarhum ayah saya di
http://hjmalakan.blogspot.com/2009/09/sabung-nyawa-di-mogadishu.html

Rakyat Malaysia yang kedua syahid di Somalia insyaAllah, ialah Kolonel Rashid
Musa.

Mengikut laporan di bawah jurukamera Bernama as Syahid Noramfaizul insyaAllah,

Rembau.

Sila saksikan video klip Blackhawk Down versi Askar Melayu di

Bernama TV cameraman shot dead in Somali capital

Ugandan peacekeepers from AMISOM ride in an APC as they patrol the streets of
Mogadishu

MOGADISHU, Sept 3 — A Malaysian television cameraman was shot dead yesterday
and another wounded by African peacekeepers in the Somali capital of Mogadishu,
witnesses and a local aid worker hosting the journalists said.

Muhideen Mohamed, who works with the Malaysian Putera 1 Malaysia Club charity,
said the cameraman had been killed by peacekeepers from the AMISOM force who
were patrolling the city that has been the centre of an Islamist insurgency.

“AMISOM killed a Malaysian journalist and injured another between the K4 road
junction and Mogadishu airport on Friday,” Mohamed, the aid group’s local
coordinator told Reuters.

Top Malaysian businessman murdered: Prominent Malaysian businessman, Colonel
Rashid Musa has been gunned down and killed during a botched kidnap attempt in
south Moqdishu. The colonel was a partner in the Somali Telecommunication
Service (STS), a joint venture between Malaysians and Somali businessmen. Musa
first came to Somalia with the Malaysian military contingent deployed as part
of UNOSOM in 1994-95. North Moqdishu warlord Ali Mahdi Mohamed confirmed the
incident, sending a message of condolence to the government of Malaysia. Apart
from this telecommunications venture, the Somali-Malaysian bank opened in
Moqdishu in April last year and there has been talk of Malaysian technicians
assisting in the re-opening of the port. Malaysian business interests are often
closely linked with members of Hussein Aideed's faction. (IRIN, June 2; AFP,

Malaysian factor in ‘Black Hawk Down’

KUALA LUMPUR: In the Hollywood action movie Black Hawk Down, there are only
fleeting shots of Asians helping to rescue 75 US soldiers pinned down by
militia fire in Mogadishu, Somalia.

And that is not good enough for Brig-Jen (Rtd) Datuk Abdul Latif Ahmad. He
wants the real story of what happened on Oct 3, 1993 told.

He was the commander of the Malaysian contingent which was part of the UN
peacekeeping force in the tumultuous African state.
