Kapasiti enjin kereta menjadi salah satu faktor kenapa pemohon bantuan RM500 ditolak. Sebanyak 23,360 pemohon ditolak permohonan mereka atas faktor ini. Sebelum ini kerajaan telah menetapkan mereka yang berpendapatan bawah RM3,000 sebulan layak, kenapa perlu ada syarat tambahan ini? Apakah akan ada syarat tambahan lain pula selepas ini? Bagaimana jika pemohon ketika memilik kereta sebut bergaji RM4,000 tetapi akibat kilang ditutup dia kini bergaji RM2,000 sebulan? Bagaimana pula jika nama mereka digunakan oleh adik beradik lain untuk membeli kereta walaupun pendapatan mereka dibawah RM3,000 sebulan?
Car factor in BR1M rejections Saturday March 3, 2012 PETALING JAYA: The type of car a person owns could be the deciding factor whether they qualify for the Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M) payment. Many applications have been rejected because the applicants owned vehicles that exceeded the stipulated engine capacity. Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Donald Lim Siang Chai said those who owned Proton or Perodua cars (registered between 2007 and 2011) of more than 1,600cc and cars of other brands (registered from 2007 to 2011) with an engine capacity of more than 1,500cc would not qualify for the aid. Applicants who owned motorcycles (made from 2007 to 2011) of an engine capacity of more than 500cc or equivalent have also been rejected.
