ï   Press release Attention: News desk For immediate use   Islamic Relief, $2 million medical aid   The President of Islamic Relief, Dr Hany Al-Banna will join the survivors tomorrow in Aceh, Indonesia. A plane loaded with $2 million medical aid will arrive at the same time. He will then travel to Colombo on 6th January.   Waseem Yaqub, UK Manager said âIslamic Relief is overwhelmed by the international response and the solidarity of people of different races, religions and nations who have expressed sympathy for the victims of the earthquake and have donated so generously to us.â   The remarkable response was emphasized yesterday when over â150,000 was raised in less than one hour on a live TV Appeal.   Islamic Relief is receiving tremendous support from Mormon churches, CAFOD and The World Jewish Aid.   The US Government has unilaterally placed Islamic Relief on its list of charities to be supported by their aid in the disaster.   âWe welcome aid from all quartersâ said Waseem Yaqub, âbut will remain firm in refusing any strings attached.
