Hi Friends:
Of all the English translations of the Qur'an, I would strongly
recommend the one by Muhammad Asad entitled, The Message of the Qur'an.
Asad's brilliant translation and interpretation of the Qur'an managed to
successfully combine modern scholarship with authentic Islamic
traditions. It is somewhat ironic that Asad's translation is not widely
known and/or readily available in bookstores and public libraries. Asad
is also the author of THE ROAD TO MECCA, one of the most enchanting
books I've ever read. He was a Muslim thinker par excellence.
Regards,
Ibrahim Hayani
