It would also make it much easier to monitor both directions (inbound and
outbound) on taps such as NetOptics and Shomiti.

Idle curiosity -- is there any plans to support more than one
monitoring NIC on a single RS Engine? It might make it easier to
handle some failover situations... (dual NICs, dual switches...)
