I have received alot of good information from so many. Working for the Navy
(after just talking with my supervisor on some of the solutions that you all
have helped me come up with) they are less likely to use anyone outside the
command to test their level of expertise for fear they will not even
slightly measure up (my thoughts is that I believe that it would show what
level they are at and were they need to go for the future). I am trying to
come up with something that will allow us to independently test ourselves
first, then it will show where our training needs should be focused (this is
my current strategy now). Frustration on doing a job right and doing what is
politically correct sometimes do not mesh well together.

the SANS SNAP courses are new, and they do not have the recognition as the
CISSP does. SANS SNAP courses are still pretty much in the infancy
development, some courses are much mature than the others. One approach
is to sign up for every single conference out there, become a conference
roadie if you will. Another approach is become intimate with the Sendmail
book 2nd ed. and everything else will fall into place :).. Tongue in
cheek.. :)
