It is done by odbc connection during setup. You will find an ODBC SN
RSEventCollector.
On the Eventcollector asset in the managed assets, properties you see also
the username and passwordbox of that sqluser.
We did a complete lab here with scenario 5 and failover, backup consoles and
so on, it works fine.
If you want NT integrated security, you change the ODBC connection, you
change the issdaemonservice user and change the eventcollectorspolicy.
So as soon you define eventsources on the eventcollector you will see low
priority events, "eventchannel opened for ..." then it is ok. As long as you
don't see any high priority events like "fatal database ..." the
eventcollector receives events and sends them to the enterprise
database.(you ave to monitor the eventcollector to see EC events)

Hi guys,

had anyone tested the RealSecure 6 scenario 5 (as per the RS6 manual)
deployment?

Does anyone know how to enable communication between event_collectors and
the database? I cant seem to find the option to link the event collectors to
a remote SQL database or MSDE, only within a server.

Thanks,
Sean
