The installation seems to go OK- no error messages, etc. Upon reboot, I get the following EventLog error messages: Event Type:Error Event Source: ISS Event Category: ServerSensor Event ID: 1 Date: 13/07/2001 Time: 8:48:45 AM User: N/A Computer: XXX-XXX-XXX Description: (xxx-xxx-xxx) - Error in initializing Network Monitoring Component of Server Sensor. and Event Type: Error Event Source: ISS Event Category: ServerSensor Event ID: 1 Date: 13/07/2001 Time: 8:48:45 AM User: N/A Computer: XXX-XXX-XXX Description: (xxx-xxx-xxx) - Error opening rsdne device driver \\.\rsdne (2) I looked in the registry for the dne service (it is not listed in Services in Control Panel)- and noticed that the ImagePath was set to "\??\C:\WINNT\System32\drivers\rsdne.sys" I tried installing on another box and it installed OK. Both boxes are Win2K SP2 (no hotfixes as yet). The one that worked was a default install. The one that didn't has some services disabled, etc... Do you know which ones need to be available to install/run Server Sensor? The other thing I noticed was that the ImagePath for the dne service on the working box was "SYSTEM32\drivers\dne2000.sys" Which is correct? Should I try copying the driver to the box that doesn't work and change this registry setting. I would prefer to know what is wrong, though.
