Got a complaint from an SA about the impact of Internet Scans.
Is this a known issue, if so is there a fix or work around?

Chris,
I am writing to inform you about SGI's experience with the ISS scan
product. The scan hangs remote communications on some boxes, and the inetd
daemon will not time out. Our SYSLOGs on a number of SGI boxes show that
the ISS scan ran Friday afternoon. Communications on several of these boxes
hung, causing backups not to run on about 35 boxes.
I am requesting your assistance/guidance/or collaboration on addressing
this issue.
