Don, You should install the db to a larger array than the actual program installation. I would use sql2000 if I were you because it has so much more functionality for production than MSDE. SQL will install right over the top of MSDE. I needed to do the same thing. The ISS FAQ on the support site state to install MSDE on location other then the default you need to install it from the MS Office 2k CD. You find the install under the SQL folder on Disk1. Also as an FYI. If you just want to relocate the data files for MSDE check out the MS Knowledge base article Q224071 which details how to move the data files.
