If you have MSSQL server Enterprise Manager available, its easy to look up
and modify these permissions. Enterprise Manager is a GUI for managing SQL
databases, and worth its weight in gold.

Its a simple matter of setting up a new connection entry for the server
you're interested in, Then you can examine any attribute of whatever
databases are on that server. For the Event Collector user, go to the ISSED
database, click on users, and double click on EventCollector. This will
show all the permissions assigned to that user. To modify is simply a
matter of clicking on  the appropriate tick boxes and applying the changes.

If you have to do all this by SQL, then I'm as much in the dark as you are
