Hi Rick, You can deploy as many network sensor as you like, but it must make sense why you need to deploy so much NS? NS 7.0 are capable of monitoring 100, 200 (full duplex) and Gigabit (1000).
The other concern is, its depend on what switch you use. Because in switch environment, you can't really sniff the traffic if you didn't do port spanning or port mirror, and difference switch has difference port span capabilities (many to many, many to one, one to one). If you looking at load balance the IDS, then take a look at Toplayer switch.
