I'd go for having Internet scanner and System scanner on one machine. System scanner installs firstly on MSDE not SQLserver. You can have IS and SS on one machine. ( install SS then IS because the issDaemon for IS is newer) Fusion on its own. and definitly SiteProtector on its own.

The "System requirements" documents require each of the following to be on its on dedicated machine. 1. System Scanner console (min Pentium II 300 Mhz) 2. SiteProtector/Fusion 3rd Party Module (min 1GHz machine) 3. Fusion (800Mhz machine) 4. Internet Scanner (min. 600Mhz machine) ( I suppose SiteProtector is used as a console to the Internet Scanner, right ?) My objective is to use as few systems as possible to minimize the admin. effort. I think it is silly to manage 4 different systems/sql servers if I can lump them together onto more power systems in a logical manners: For example, System Scanner Console/ Site Protector on one 2GHZ machine, Fusion on its own, Internet Scanner on its own. Does anyone have success of running these components on shared machines as opposed to what the documents say ? Any comments on the other placement methods are welcome.
