Hello group.

My following problem exists on a windows 2000 server, service pack 4 with
all available patches.

I have a 5 servers that I cannot connect to after Sensor installation.
I contacted ISS and was advised that the machines have been hardened and the
registry key
//hkey_local_machine/system/currentcontrolset/control/filesystem/ntfsdisable
8dot3namecreation needs to be set back to 0.
I uninstalled, set registry key to 0, removed ISS registry entry, rebooted,
reinstalled, and got the same problem.

Also, when I right click for the details on the sensors, under Sensor Status
i get the following messge:

"Not Responding - The sensor's current policy file was not successfully
transferred when the control channel was opened and therefore it is not
available to the application. This is usually due to a problem reading the
file from the sensor after opening the control channel. It can also occur
after a fresh install when there is no current policy file until the sensor
is started. In this is the case just start the sensor. If the sensor status
is currently active then try to stop managing it and start managing it
again. If the problem still persists verify that the iss.access file in the
daemon directory of the sensor has the proper entries in it for
current.policy of the sensor. [ID=0xc72c0026]"

Has anyone else experienced this, and could anyone else suggest other
registry keys/services to check?

Thanks.

Keith Deno
