James, the only problem I have seen so far was generated when the sensor was deployed in a gigabit environment, and I had the network team span the VLAN for a monitoring session on the port where my sensor was listening. Because my IDS interface was not capable of keeping up with the high volume of traffic, the router was dropping a huge amount of traffic. But, of course, this problem can be diverted by deploying a GB network sensor instead.
