The BlackICE service is installed as part of the server sensor. While it is a separate product in the sense that you can go out and buy it, ISS bundles it with the server sensor. The it provides the "block" functionality in the event responses.

I just discovered that on three Windows machines there is a BlackICE service running as well as a BlackICE directory under C:\Programme\ISS\issSensors\server_sensor_1. My understanding is that BlackICE is a completely seperate product from SiteProtector/Server Sensor. If so, then we should not have BlackICE on these machines as we only purchased Server Sensor. Any help is greatly appreaciated.
