Server Sensor uses BlackICE technology for inspection of network traffic in addition to other processes to monitor our sources for event information. In other words, this is correct.
I hope this helps, John ***************************************************************** John Cloonan Product Manager Internet Security Systems ***************************************************************** -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Mohr James Sent: Wednesday, December 10, 2003 6:45 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [ISSForum] BlackICE on Windows, should only be Server Sensor Hi All! I just discovered that on three Windows machines there is a BlackICE service running as well as a BlackICE directory under C:\Programme\ISS\issSensors\server_sensor_1. My understanding is that BlackICE is a completely seperate product from SiteProtector/Server Sensor. If so, then we should not have BlackICE on these machines as we only purchased Server Sensor. Any help is greatly appreaciated.
