Hi Khan,

because I don't have any A 604 I can just try to help you on the number 2.
Finaly on RSSP at least 2 directories must appears
1 for your sensors
1 for the ISS stuff ( deployment mgr, event coll, SiteProtector Core and SiteProtector Db )
all of the components must appear active and if the value in the column "available update" is set to YES you must have to update this component.
For that begin by the stuff and at the end when stuff is updated do the same for the sensors.
For updating a component just right clic on it and choose "Apply update" until the "available update" collumn is set to "NO".
If it dont work just tell me more about messages or error.
Regards

Bruno

Subject: [ISSForum] Proventia A604 configuration and testing
Date: Mon, 23 Feb 2004 20:23:35 -0800 (PST)

Dear All;
I am working first time in my life on ISS. I installed
proventia A 604 IDS sensors. Did the basic
configuration. I can see my sensor in site protector
and I can able to see security events coming from my
span port of switch that is connected to one of the
Ethernet port of my network sensor.
Question;
1. How can I test that my IDS working properly?
2. How can I update my site protector or network
sensor device?
3. What policy I can apply coz there are many polices
some are applying some are failing.
4. What is the best practice for monitoring 4 segments
(vlan) using proventia 604 (it has four monitoring
ports).

I read the documentation completely but I was unable
to find the above answers. Experts please write your
comments and suggestions

Hope to hear soon.
Thanks and Advance
Khan
