I tried this in a test machine but it didn't work.
I had a Windows 2000 Server SP4 as Host System with VMware workstation
4.0.5-6030, one VM with Red Hat 7.3 and another one with Red Hat 8.0. I
installed Server Sensor 7.0 on the Windows Host System, Server Sensor 6.5
on the Red Hat 7.3 VM and Server Sensor 6.5.1 on the Red Hat 8.0 VM.
As expected, the sensor on Windows was OK, but the sensors on Linux Virtual
Machines didn't start properly. Just the issDaemon process started OK.
Summarizing, it seems that the server sensor has problems trying to run on
virtual network drivers (At least on Linux Virtual Machines). I'm not sure
if this configuration works on Windows Virtual Machines.
I hope this helps.

I'm considering putting server sensor on a VM Ware server. Will this work
at all? If so,
will one sensor work for this or do I have to install one per vitual
machine.
