Dear ISSForum,

Currently we have a RS Netsensor is a fault tolerance scenario:
R - Router
F - Firewall
H - Hub
NS - RealSecure NetSensor

R-R = routers are interconnected
F-F = firewalls in failover mode
H-H = hubs connected through backplane
NS-H = NetSensor connect to one hub

R-R
| |
H-H-NS
| |
F-F

We plan to replace Cisco Hubs by Cisco Switches, without make big changes on
the architecture. Moreover, we plan to add in a near future a new pair of
firewalls, on a different VLAN monitored by a second RS Netsensor.
We have done some tests with local SPAN feature (Cisco switches) and it
works, including RSKILL. But, that does not cover a fault tolerance issue.

Questions
1) Does anyone have a successful story about a similar scenario?
2) Can anyone point us Cisco Switches models that really work with VLAN
SPAN? Someone with field experience with it?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Best regards,
lvaro Almeida
