This is not entirely correct. There are several ISS products that co-exist very comfortably with Internet Scanner and some are even integrated in with it. They are: Proventia Desktop Database Scanner System Scanner Later versions of Network Sensor SiteProtector (Remote Console) With Internet Scanner 7.0 SP2, there is integration with Proventia Desktop whereas the Firewall and Intrusion Protection policies (thers as well) can actually be controlled by Internet Scanner if the setting is utilized. This is a use at your own risk situation as the policy chosen in order to allow most scanning functions is quite relaxed to permit most scans and this should be considered when looking at overall host system security that is manually controlled by allowing exceptions to the firewall rather than essentially bringing it down. Database Scanner has always had a feature where it could be launched from Internet Scanner (residing on the same machine) if database servers were discovered during the scan. System Scanner has for years peacefully co-existed with Internet Scanner and for a long period of time was (and probably still is) encouraged as a way of locking down (hardening) the scanning host. Network Sensor has had daemon compatibility issues with Internet Scanner before, but I *believe* the later versions synced up the daemon enough to avoid the conflict. As I mentioned before, the remote SiteProtector console is supported and encouraged for useage as a way to control the Internet Scanner sensor managed by SiteProtector especially if in a sensor only configuration where this would be absolutely necessary if operating from the sensor itself for whatever reason.
