I know two solutions that may help you. 1. Cisco Admission control, see http://www.cisco.com/go/nac. Cisco trust agent (CTA) in that technology can, I think, can check what's going on on workstation before LAN access. Also, I heard that MS is going to incorporate something like CTA into it's new Windows (may be even Vista). 2. Juniper IVE (www.juniper.com) has component called 'host checker', which test workstation before granting access to network via Juniper. That host checker can check that black ice is up and running.
