No, no. That is if the service is running or not running. I am talking about a check of the actual existence of Prov Desktop. What if PD is missing altogether? The checkbox will not help that at all. I think there is a way to use a ProventiaG appliance to do this but I am not sure.

It's a simple checkbox in the policy. It's named something like "Don't allow network connection if service stopped". It's located where you also can select GUI and shared configuration. /Jesper N. ________________________________ Fra: [EMAIL PROTECTED] på vegne af CAUSEY, David Sendt: to 27-10-2005 21:43 Til: Slamet; Muggli, Roger; ISS Forum Cc: Daniel Walther Emne: Re: [ISSForum] Access to lan/wlan Can't Proventia Desktop do this if you configure it to work with a ProventiaG appliance? I thought Pro. Desktop ver. 8 had this ability. The ProG checks every system as it logs in for an updated and running install of Pro. Desktop. If it exists then login accepted and if not then no login. I haven't tried this yet but I thought I read it was possible. You can configure it within the Group Policy. There exists an option (administrative settings) that all network traffic will be blocked when the service isn't running.
