   I pulled this change into my PR.
   
   At this point I think we should simply disable the CDI example. I don't see 
a way to set `--add-opens` with the `artemis-maven-plugin`. Using 
[`.mvn/jvm.config`](https://maven.apache.org/configure.html) works, but it 
changes the JVM config for _everything_ in the project so that's not acceptable.
   
   I wonder if we shouldn't just deprecate this whole module and remove it in 
3.0. I'll start a discussion thread on the dev mailing list about this.
