The role change emails Eroma mentioned are generated by this code: 
https://github.com/apache/airavata-php-gateway/blob/master/app/controllers/AdminController.php#L370-L379

The account verification emails are generated by this code: 
https://github.com/apache/airavata-php-gateway/blob/master/app/libraries/EmailUtilities.php#L13.
 There's the email templates in JSON which set the subject and body and in 
EmailUtilities.php there is the sendEmail function that sets the From field.
