URL: https://github.com/apache/arrow/issues/55429

   The `test-r-macos-as-cran` nightly `cran-release` job, which builds Arrow
C++ from source against the macOS 11.3 SDK that CRAN uses, has been failing
since 2026-11-03 with:

       cpp/src/arrow/compute/kernels/codegen_internal.h:1239:17: error: no
member named 'invocable' in namespace 'std'
       cpp/src/arrow/compute/kernels/codegen_internal.h:1275:17: error: no
member named 'invocable' in namespace 'std'

   Failing lines:
https://github.com/apache/arrow/blob/1ebb9379b2f635755e773b79e88cb99852c70455/cpp/src/arrow/compute/kernels/codegen_internal.h#L1239
 and
https://github.com/apache/arrow/blob/1ebb9379b2f635755e773b79e88cb99852c70455/cpp/src/arrow/compute/kernels/codegen_internal.h#L1275

   The 11.3 SDK's libc++ has partial C++20 concepts support: `std::same_as`
exists but `std::invocable` does not. Introduced in #55291.

   Failing run (2026-11-06):
https://github.com/ursacomputing/crossbow/actions/runs/42175710706

   Same class of problem as GH-49176, which guarded a concept on
`__cpp_lib_concepts >= 202002L` in `hash_aggregate.cc`. The fallback here can
be `std::is_invocable_v<decltype(Transform), Type::type>` in the `requires`
clause.

   This issue was drafted by Claude from the crossbow nightly logs and reviewed
by Nic Crane before posting.
