Yes, but installing locally is semi-broken
[BEAM-6436](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/BEAM-6436). But if you use
the Beam SNAPSHOT it should work. You can test this with an external project
with a pipeline that uses CassandraIO with direct runner. You need in this case
to add the snapshots repository to your maven pom file and put the current
version id: 2.11.0-SNAPSHOT)
