So far, the Spark portable runner has only been run successfully on Java, which
hardly makes it portable! I haven't tried running it on Python yet, and
although it works _in theory_, I created this issue to track any problems that
might arise.
I anticipate the main issue will probably be file staging. I will update this
issue when I get the chance to look into it.
