[~hyuan], fyi, in order to unblock the situation, I de-activated
MaterializationTest#testJoinMaterialization8 and
MaterializationTest#testJoinMaterialization9 in CALCITE-3535, and created a
separate bug to investigate the issue (CALCITE-3598). Probably this will help
you to move forward in the current ticket.
