Julian Hyde commented on CALCITE-5624:
--------------------------------------
Before we dive into PRs, can we get to a precise description of the problem?
First of all, the parser doesn't have a 'dialect' concept. It has conformance,
lexical properties, and a function table (library). Which of those properties
are you intending to use?
Second, it is a goal that every valid Spark query is valid in our parser, but
it is not a goal that every invalid Spark query is invalid. In other words, you
do not necessarily have to remove capabilities from the parser. (Unless leaving
them in would create ambiguities.)

> AtomicRowExpression should not have ArrayConstructor for Apache Spark. Arrays
> are constructed by calling the array function
> ([https://spark.apache.org/docs/latest/api/sql/index.html#array]).
>
> {code:java}
> array()
> array(1)
> array(1, 2, 3){code}
