You can refer to the discussion in [CALCITE-6852], where similar discussions 
also exist in the mailing list. Regarding the alias issue, my personal practice 
is to preserve the RelRoot after the SqlToRel phase. This ensures the alias 
exists and then restore this alias after all optimizations are completed.
