Claus Ibsen resolved CAMEL-25430.
---------------------------------
Fix Version/s: 4.23.0
Resolution: Fixed
Fixed by https://github.com/apache/camel/pull/27537: camel infra run prints the
pull progress of Testcontainers, and the camel-jbang monitor shows it while the
service starts (layers and size pulled, and the percentage once Docker knows
the total).
> camel-jbang - camel infra run shows the progress of pulling the container
> image

> A first camel infra run pulls the container image, which can take minutes for
> large images (ollama, keycloak, docling, localstack), and nothing says how
> far it got.
> camel infra run keeps the logging of Testcontainers quiet, so the pull
> progress it reports is not shown: a pull of nats (16.5 MB) printed only
> "Starting service nats" and then the service properties. Testcontainers
> reports the progress of a pull per layer, e.g.
> {noformat}
> Pulling image layers: 3 pending, 2 downloaded, 0 extracted, (1.2 GB/3.4 GB)
> Pull complete. 9 layers, pulled in 84s (downloaded 3.4 GB at 40 MB/s)
> {noformat}
> Proposal:
> * camel infra run prints the pull progress (let the Testcontainers pull
> logger through, or print a line of its own from the pull callback), in the
> plain CLI as well
> * the camel-jbang monitor, which keeps the output of the camel infra run it
> starts, shows it in the STATUS of the infra service while it starts, e.g.
> "pulling 35% of 3.4 GB", then Running
> The total is known only once Docker has reported the size of every layer, so
> early on it can only say how much was pulled ("pulling 1.2 GB").
