Based on my understanding, this is the scenario you are trying to test: using
S3 as secondary storage for a multi-zone environment where one zone is using
xen and another zone is using vmware. The correct steps to set up this is:
1.Add two zones say zone1 with xen and zone2 with vmware
clusters
2.Add S3 storage which is region wide.
3. Add NFS Cache Storage for both zone1 and zone2
4.Enable both the zones
Have you tried these correct steps? Did you encounter any issues in bringing up
system vms on both zones? At this point, I don't want to digress our efforts on
unsupported steps as you did where no NFS cache storage is created for zone1.
If you tried those correct steps and then noticed that we are trying to bring
wrong system vm template (vmware template) to zone1, then please close this bug
and file a separate bug for the system vm template picking issue instead of
embedding this issue in this bug.
