Donald Woods commented on VALIDATOR-274:
----------------------------------------
The attached source seems to be an almost exact copy of the RI from the Red Hat
JBoss project -
http://anonsvn.jboss.org/repos/hibernate/beanvalidation/trunk/validation-api/
with just the license headers changed to remove the Red Hat copyright. If so,
this is not acceptable, as copyright statements are allowed under ASL 2.0 and
should not have been removed without a Software Grant Agreement (SGA) from Red
Hat.
BTW - I'm implementing a valid "clean room" version of the JSR-303 API Spec (no
Impl planned) over in the Geronimo project as GERONIMO-4619, since we'll need
to provide it as part of OpenJPA 2.0 and any Geronimo Java EE 6 app server we
ship in the future. I would suggest that the Commons Validator project stay
focused on the Implementation and leave the API to the Geronimo Specifications
subproject, just like the other Java EE spec APIs we provide today.
