Emmanuel Bourg commented on COMPRESS-82:
----------------------------------------
There is probably the same issue with the other archive output streams.
I don't know if it's best to change the code in CpioArchiveOutputStream, or
tell the user to initialize the CpioArchiveOutputStream with a buffered stream.
If the code is changed and the user initialize the class with a buffered
stream, there would be 2 buffered stream encapsulated.
> cpio is terribly slow

> I have a directory with 20 jar files in it to be placed into a cpio archive.
> This seems VERY slow (about 3 minutes). It is almost immediate with the
> linux cpio command (of course its non-java). is there any way to improve
> speed for the cpio archiving?
