Sorry for the delay in responding; I had started reviewing but then stumbled on
a "no-go" (see MATH-1665) which I thought was enforced by the default build.
IIRC, there were also other issues (some of which I had already listed
previously, like some of the new "OptimizationData" classes). On the one hand,
this is all in the "legacy" package, so the API "cleanliness" is not that
important maybe; but still, adding to the public API should, in principle, be
discussed if just in case someone finds a better way...
