this depends upon the the JDK version the end user is using (not the
project's javac compiler). But just for history, they started hw-accelerating
it in java 8: https://bugs.openjdk.org/browse/JDK-7088419. On arm i don't know
the timeline but also they improve it, so if you use a newer JDK you'll take
advantage automatically.
