The original intent was to add somewhere two utility methods to convert between
raw bytes and a UUID. Since I could not find a proper place in lang I created
an own class with UUIDUtils. However, the current functionality is strongly
related to DataInput and DataOutput and provides four methods for each
supported type. This can be any primitive as well as UUID. Therefore I am more
inclined to move this issue to IO and add all this as DataIOUtils.
Regarding the patch: Yes, I deleted the old one, I did not see a lot of value
keeping the old stuff.
